North Abaco

This site is located in the reef on the north end of Scotland Cay. There are gigantic cavern rooms with formations resembling the inside of a cathedral. Large openings overhead allow light to stream through to the sandy bottom. The maximum depth is 40 feet.

Charter services are available for groups needing transportation between the Southern and Northern settlements of Abaco. Upon request, Glender Knowles can also conduct and arrange tours to Abaco's historical sites and nearby Cays.

Central Abaco

Referred to as The Number 1 Band in the Nation, the Gully Roosters' entertaining style has built a fan base over the years that consists of both locals and visitors. You can find them playing at many nightspots on Green Turtle Cay.

The Cays

This local band has been on the Abaco music scene for a number of years. Their music can be heard at hotels, bars, events and at private functions.

This is a beautiful site near Scotland Cay. The reef structure here has six or more very long, wide tunnels running through it like a maze. The tunnels are quite large and well lit with many large openings in the overhead. The maximum depth is 30 feet.

A luxurious way to experience the Abaco Islands is aboard one of the Moorings' sailboats or powerboats that provides world class service through its skippers and crew.

The Cays

These are dive sites on the outside of the main reef at the north end of Guana Cay. These sites have a maximum depth of 60 feet. Each is unique with amazing coral structures that reach the surface from the bottom at 60 feet.

This site called Fly Wheel in the Cruising Guide. There are lots of Chubs and Yellowtail Snappers here. The site has interesting coral formations with nice well lit tunnels running through them. Maximum depth is 25 feet.

The site is located outside the reef near The Tower Garden. Here there are huge coral heads that come close to the surface from depths of 60 feet. We often see Caribbean Reef Sharks, Rays and Turtles here.

This site is located on the outside of the reef, north of Shark Ledge. We often see Friendly Caribbean Reef Sharks and Groupers here. There are interesting coral structures to explore. The maximum depth is 40 ft.

North Abaco

This historic wreck is located on the inside of Chub Rocks near Whale Cay. Depths range from 20 to 50 feet. The wreckage is mainly acres of coral covered steel rubble on the bottom. However, the boilers sit up and a piece of the stern is still intact.

Enjoy the popular and mouth-watering Bahamian dishes of the Wrecking Tree that is located in the historic seaside village of New Plymouth. Open Mon-Sat 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. for lunch and dinner only; forms of payment are cash and traveler's cheques.

The Cays

Tilloo Cay Reserve, established in 1990, is an important nesting habitat for seabirds with an approximate size of 11 acres.

Situated poolside at Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina the Tipsy Seagull Bar is an outdoor, open air facility. Cool tropical drinks, beer and wine are served daily. This location converts into a pizzeria on Thursday nights - a traditional favorite with guests and locals.

If you are looking to just relax and do a little snorkeling on your own, then this beach is ideal for you. The beach runs from the north end of Elbow Cay to St. James Methodist Church in Hope Town.

The Cays

Treasure Cay Beach is the most sparkling natural feature of the coastal regions on the island of Abaco. Stunning is the word for this 3.5-mile stretch of sugar-soft, powdery white sand, matched only in brilliance by the sparkling diamond and turquoise water colors lapping at its shore.

Dick Wilson, one of America's most renowned golf course architects, designed this 18-hole, par-72 championship course, but died before it was completed in 1968. His assistant, Joe Lee, completed the course. It is 6,985 yards from the blue tees with 66 sand bunkers.

The library is run by volunteers and is open Monday thru Friday between the hours of 3:00pm-5:00pm. Also in the same building is a rental space that can house business meetings and seminars.
