People-to-People

People-to-People volunteers are your personal hosts. They come from different parts of our community and have been chosen by the People-to-People program to represent The Islands Of The Bahamas. Volunteers are not employed or subsidized by The Ministry of Tourism & Aviation in any way. They genuinely enjoy meeting people from other countries and making visitors feel at home.

The People-to-People Unit of The Ministry of Tourism & Aviation matches visitors and volunteers according to their hobbies, interests, civic organizations and occupations. Volunteers are then responsible for setting up and meeting their guests. Your host may invite you to share an evening of pleasant conversation, join in the fun at a family gathering or worship with them at church. What you do is left entirely to the host volunteers and visitors. Our goal, and the goal of People-to-People, is for you to gain an understanding of our country and culture.

What better way to learn about The Bahamas from afar than to talk directly to a Bahamian. With our E-pal Program, you can get a taste for the islands before you know what a conch fritter looks like. See the clarity of the water before your toes touch the beach. Understand the culture before fully immersing yourself.
