How To Get Here
Eleuthera & Harbour Island can be reached easily by air or by sea. Three airports serve Eleuthera: North Eleuthera International Airport (ELH), Governor's Harbour International Airport (GHB) and Rock Sound International Airport (RSD). Access to Harbour Island and Spanish Wells is via North Eleuthera. By sea, Bahamas Ferry Services provides daily high-speed ferry service from Nassau to Harbour Island and Spanish Wells and weekly service to the settlements of Current, Hatchet Bay and Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera. You can also travel on one of three mailboats to several towns on a weekly (or more frequent) basis.
There are world-class marinas at Cape Eleuthera and Cotton Bay on mainland Eleuthera; the Harbour Island Club, Romora Bay and Valentine’s on Harbour Island; and facilities in Spanish Wells that offer all of the desired amenities. Visiting boaters must clear Customs and Immigration at the nearest designated Official Port of Entry – Harbour Island, North Eleuthera, Cape Eleuthera, Rock Sound, and Spanish Wells. As you enter port, fly the yellow quarantine flag and notify Customs of your arrival. No one other than the captain is permitted to leave the boat until your vessel has been cleared.
For private pilots, steering your own aircraft over the stunning watercolor scenery of our islands and landing on one of their 50-plus airstrips is truly one of the great joys of flying. In Eleuthera, a Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) is available at North Eleuthera International Airport to provide fueling and other support services.
