Thank you so much for our destination wedding and honeymoon in The Bahamas. James and I had a wonderful time, from the moment we stepped off of the plane in Nassau. The limousine ride (Majestic Tours) from the airport to the hotel (Breezes) was beautiful – such scenery – and the driver had lots of suggestions for places to go. On his advice, we checked out the Straw Market where we bought gifts for our families, and went to the Fish Fry area where we had conch 3 different ways – very tasty!
The hotel was lovely, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. They took very good care of us. We really enjoyed the available activities and sports. James tried out the trapeze and sumo wrestling and loved both! We even took out a paddle boat on the ocean one morning. The view from our hotel room was so gorgeous. We had a view of the pool area and the ocean. It was wonderful.
We took an afternoon and checked out the aquarium at Atlantis and picked up some information on Bahamian history, and then had a tour around the island on the Number 10 bus (fare was only $1.50!!!).
The wedding on the beach chapel exceeded all expectations. The flowers that Kathy Ingraham brought us were absolutely stunning. I keep getting compliments on them when people see our photos. Reverend Anderson made the ceremony very intimate and personal – I can’t say enough nice things about the Reverend! The champagne and cake were such special touches, and we loved the guava filling in the cake. We have never had anything like it before and it was so good!
Everywhere we went, we met warm, wonderful people. We especially loved the medians between the roads that were full of lush plants and places to sit and relax. We took lots of walks along them and learned about the native plants and flowers. The island is very safe, and incredibly clean. We had such a great time, we can’t wait to go back – and maybe even renew our vows!
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
James and Jennifer Cook
