Camp Symonette, a monument to Sir Roland Symonette, the first Premier of the Bahamas, is used every Summer to the delight of the young people in The Bahamas. It is now operated by the Methodist Habitat. Throughout the year, this camp houses a number of church groups and students from various universities in the United States. These people assist the various communities on Eleuthera by constructing and renovating homes.
