Built in 1836 by the British Imperial Lighthouse Service and named after its geological formation, this lighthouse is known as one of the oldest lighthouse in the Bahamas and the first lighthouse built in the Abacos. Today the original mechanism of the lighthouse has been dismantle and is now operated automatically without a lighthouse keeper. The scenery at the Hole in the Wall Lighthouse is unlike anywhere in the Abacos and is located 55 miles south of Marsh Harbour by ground transportation.
