The pine forest is made up of a variety of shrubs and hardwood trees, which were used as a main source to provide timbers for boat building and fencing. It is also home to over seventy species of orchids, a variety of birds (some seasonal), and the legendary Chickcharnie, which is seen on rare occasions.
