Montague Beach, located east of the Paradise Island Bridge, is home to an historic fort constructed in the 18th century to guard the eastern entrance to Nassau Harbor. The promenade is a popular hangout in the evenings, on weekends and public holidays, with vendors providing a variety of local food and drinks. The beach is also a favorite spot for wading and picnicking. Adjacent to the beach, vendors sell fresh seafood, fruits and vegetables year-round.
