Overview
Established in 2002, this 13,440 acre national park is a vital part of the ecosystem between Great and Little Exuma. This marine environment includes a wide array of habitats, including sand dunes, pristine beaches, mangrove creeks and sea grass beds. It is home to a variety of nesting seabirds such as the Gull-billed and least terns, nighthawks, plovers, oystercatchers and ospreys. In addition to its birdlife, the Moriah Harbour Cay National Park is a vital nursery ground for gray snappers, yellowtails, groupers and crabs. Nature enthusiasts may also want to explore the vast amounts of palmettos, buttonwood, bay cedar and sea oats.
