Overview
Blue holes are found on all of the main islands of The Bahamas. The most noted blue holes in The Bahamas can be found on the Island of Andros. Andros has a vast amount of blue holes (228). There are 178 blue holes located inland and 50 in the sea. As one of the second deepest cave in The Bahamas, the Guardian Blue Hole has a maximum explored depth of 133 m. The surface pond is fresh with a layer of hydrogen sulfide is sometimes present at the halocline.
