Birding

Andros is home to some 120 varieties of birds, both resident species and North American migratory birds. Local exotics include Ibis, Spoonbills, Flamingos, Hummingbirds, Woodstars and the rare Bahama Parrot. You'll often find water fowl wading along the shore, roosting in the mangroves or hiding amid the coppice. Birding tours are offered by resorts or can be arranged through the Tourist Office.
