Things to do on Land - Inagua Island

Despite the remoteness of Inagua, there is still much to do here.  You can visit caves or historical sites and go back in time; tour the Morton Solar Salt crystalizing facility; see flamingos, donkeys and other animals in the wild; or hang out with Bahamians and enjoy local food and drink.


Attractions

Places to see are national parks, caves, old churches, a museum, and lighthouse.

Birding

It's a bird-watcher’s paradise here, with over 140 species, including flamingos.

Dining

Seafood dominates the menus here, and the island is known for great lobster salad.

Entertainment

A popular nighttime activity is watching the stars shoot across the clear sky.

Family Fun

The Union Creek National park provides a fishbowl view of the varied wildlife here.

Shopping

There is a general store, bakery, gift shops, local arts and craft persons.

Sports

Basketball, softball, baseball, volleyball, track and field take place at Pigeon Park.

Tours

You can take a walking tour of Mathew Town or a guided tour of national parks.

Worship

An 1863 church now stands in ruins, but a service is held on the site every year.
