Home to the largest breeding colony of West Indian Flamingos, the Inagua National Park was established in 1965 on 183,740 acres. It protects wetlands, West Indian Flamingo nesting colonies, Bahama Parrot nesting sites and the largest lake in The Bahamas, Lake Rosa.

Designated as a Wetland of International Importance and an Important Bird Area, birding enthusiast can find a variety of bird species in the this park such as hummingbirds, ducks, pelicans, herons, egrets, cormorants, spoonbills, kestrels and owls.  Other species found in the park include donkeys, fresh water turtles, wild boars and other marine life.
