Educulture Bahamas Ltd.

Educulture Bahamas was founded in 2000 to explore, discover and celebrate the spirit of Junkanoo in The Bahamas through an exciting variety of educational and cultural experiences for students and adults. Junkanoo, the national cultural festival of The Islands of The Bahamas, dates back over two hundred years to the era of Slavery and is celebrated each year in two spectacular parades on Boxing Day (26th December) and New Years Day. You can experience some of the drama, color and excitement of this riveting cultural experience by viewing Junkanoo costume pieces, paraphernalia and instruments at the Educulture Mini Junkanoo Museum. The museum experience also includes a presentation on the history of the Festival; Audio-Visual presentation of the parade; Interactive demonstration of Junkanoo music including your own Junkanoo whistle and a complimentary Junkanoo drink; displays illustrating how Junkanoo costumes are made with samples of costumes through the ages; and historical artifacts depicting Bahamian life. Specially design experiences may also be booked locally and overseas to include Junkanoo performances for special events and oral presentations on Junkanoo and the History and Culture of The Bahamas. Open Monday through Friday from 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.; Weekends and Holidays by appointment only.
