Born in The Bahamas, Ritchie spent his formative years in Haiti. Thus his work reflects the influence of these two cultures. He started painting in acrylics, but oil is now his medium of choice. He has an exciting style using layers of colour and texture to build up his paintings. Through his art, he tries to portray the simple beauty of everyday scenes and people.
