After Hurricane Dorian, Freeport is back to doing what it does best: welcoming guests to one of The Bahamas’ most beloved destinations. Our calm after the storm means shaking it off, rebuilding, and never missing a beat. The majority of hotels and resorts are open, as well as island attractions, dive sites, and favourite restaurants like Tony Macaroni's Conch Experience and The Stoned Crab. Numbers tell the story of an island still smilin’, still movin’, and still rockin’ with warmth, delight, and an extra dose of Junkanoo spirit as only The Bahamas can.

Volunteer Tourism

Immediately after Hurricane Dorian, Freeport began working toward recovery. To date, almost all of its tourism industry has been restored. The key to moving forward is growth and employment. By simply enjoying the island’s unique travel experiences and participating in volunteer tourism efforts, you help create meaningful jobs. Join us in helping the island and people get back on their feet.
