Family Fun On Mayaguana

Kids of all ages will enjoy seeing the places that contributed to the island's unique history. A visit to the Pirate's Well conjures up images of swashbucklers dipping wooden buckets into that hole in the ground. In Abraham's Bay, four raised wells, now mostly dry, were the town's water supply until recently. Nearby is the tracking station that was used to help keep astronauts on course early in the U.S. space program. The secluded beaches in all three of the island's settlements are perfect for beachcombing, shelling or making sand castles. You can snorkel right off the beach at Northwest Point, sunbathe at North Beach or take a dinghy to picnic on a nearby cay at low tide. Local fishing guides offer boating tours to see the flamingos at Black Wood Point or the wild goats and iguanas on Booby Cay.
