Sports On Mayaguana

Sports On Mayaguana

The sporting activity here is more of the natural kind. Locals go swimming at beaches in the settlements daily, except in cool weather, and you can usually join a group at places like Pirate’s Well Beach. There’s also a section of the beach with a trail from Baycaner Beach Resort to Northwest Point that is used for daily jogs and walks. Once a month, there is a health walk originating in one of the three settlements on an alternate basis. Visitors are welcome to join in. The undeveloped eastern part of the island is popular with advanced off-trail bikers (who bring their own equipment) and extreme hikers who enjoy the challenge of hiking without developed trails.
