The Miami to Nassau Race Week is a historical race that has attracted some of the best sailors in the world. At Montague Beach, sailors seek the prestigious Miami to Nassau Ocean Cup that is emblazoned with the world's finest skippers on some of the world's famous racing boats.
This event started in the mid-1950s and continued for 13 years, the dream of a man named Captain Sherman "Red" Crise, who created a series of automobile races held in Nassau. Internationally acclaimed drivers from around the globe attended to compete and to soak in the backdrop of sun, sea and scorching hot cars. The event was reestablished in 2011 and continues in that tradition.
