This festival is the highlight of the Emancipation Day holiday weekend in August, and provides Baymen with an opportunity to return home to celebrate with family and friends. Activities include marching band performances, a worship service, a Little Miss Hatchet Bay Beauty Pageant and games. Proceeds will assist the community. This fundraising bike-a-thon is held each Spring and hundreds of riders from around the world travel to Eleuthera to participate. Over the years, more than 1,600 riders have pedaled in excess of 40,000 miles and raised $1.6 million to help people with cancer in The Bahamas.
