Master woodcarver Kenny Whitfield, has been practicing his craft for a number of years and creates works of art  inspired by the wildlife of San Salvador. He uses only hand tools (chisels, C-gouges, mallets and sandpaper) and a variety of local woods: the two-toned "horse flesh"and "wild tamarind," Lignum Vitae, "yellow wood," and mahogany. They are then given a protective finish with varnish or polyurethane. His pieces have been sold in the Bahamas, USA, Canada and Europe.
