Creative Nassau Experience in Pompey Square
That’s why it should come as no surprise that we have a rich and unique culture. There’s so much waiting to be discovered other than the beautiful sun, sand, and sea. Our people take pride in their work and it shows in the finished product.
In 2008, the late Jackson Burnside III and a group of talented yet passionate artisans came together with one goal in common: to showcase their talent to the world while creating a tourism model that ensured by the year 2020, more persons would chose to travel to The Bahamas for the arts, culture, and heritage, rather than just the sun, sand, and sea.
Not only were these artisans successful in building a way to showcase their talent, they found an avenue for entrepreneurs to grow as well.
Goatskin drums, conch jewelry, straw accessories, original paintings, and even cool treats to bring down your temperature are all products you can find in the Square. All products are original and handcrafted and are sold to you by the artisans themselves.
Creative Nassau in the Pompey Square has truly taken all areas from the Bahamian culture and created amazing art. It is open on Wednesday and Friday from 9-5. Be sure to carry your wallets, as you will not leave without taking a piece of The Bahamas home with you.
