The Bahamas Boating Ambassadors are a group of master mariners with extensive experience boating from South Florida to The Bahamas, as well as island-hopping in our crystal-clear waters. Members of our seasoned and enthusiastic crew delight in sharing their nautical know-how with newcomers and introducing fellow boaters to the pleasures of exploring The Bahamas by boat.

Meet the captains

Andrew Smith
Andrew traces his love of boating in The Bahamas to his first Bahamas Boat Fling in 2011. Now he makes annual trips to favourites including Exuma, Abaco, and Bimini.

Shaughn Miller
Shaughn has extensive experience boating to Grand Bahama Island and Bimini from South Florida.

Sean Ives
Although he has operated charter yachts and private boats throughout the world for 20 years, Sean believes The Bahamas is the best boating destination anywhere.

Karl Hill
The Fleet Captain of the Lauderdale Yacht Club, Karl travels to The Bahamas at least eight times a year, usually from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini, Chub Cay or West End.

Dean Fillichio
An avid boater, Dean grew up going to his best friend's house on Guana Cay in the Abacos every summer for five years. Now, he enjoys regular trips from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini.

Isaac Burgos
Issac has been traveling to The Bahamas from Florida for 14 years and has made multiple crossings in his personal vessels to Bimini, Abacos, and The Exumas.

Mr. Robert Brousseau
In addition to traveling to favourites like Staniel Cay and the Abacos by boat every year since 2015, Robert has led groups of as many as 50 boats to The Bahamas.
