Currently, the Leonard Thompson International Airport, formerly known as The Marsh Harbour International Airport (MHH) is open and providing The Abacos with domestic and international service. Additionally, the airstrips at Moore's Island, Treasure Cay, Sandy Point, Scotland's Cay and Spanish Cay are all open to receive flights. Bahamasair and Silver Airways are presently providing direct service from West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami. Domestic flights out of Nassau and Freeport are also available. Chartered air can be arranged through any certified carrier.

To access The Abacos by sea, the Marsh Harbour and Coopers Town ports are open and fully operational. You can travel from Nassau with Bahamas Ferry Services on a fully air-conditioned vessel, or a mailboat that provides service to several towns on a weekly (or more frequent) basis. From Grand Bahama Island, Pinder’s Ferry operates twice daily, leaving from McLean’s Town in the East. The fare is $50 one way. Castaway Cay is also fully operational with Disney Cruise Line operating calls on port during four (4) days of the week.

Visiting boaters who sail in must clear Customs and Immigration at any of the nearest designated Official Ports of Entry which are currently accessible to boaters. These include Green Turtle Cay, Marsh Harbour, Spanish Cay, Treasure Cay, and Walker’s Cay. As you enter the port, fly the yellow quarantine flag and notify Customs of your arrival. No one other than the captain is permitted to leave the boat until your vessel has been cleared.

The information below provides an updated list of all air carriers, ferry and mailboat services to and from The Abacos as of January 30, 2020.
