Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation Statement on July 23 Emergency Powers and COVID-19 Travel Protocol
New Quarantine Requirements for International and Domestic Arrivals Enforced to Protect the Health and Safety of Bahamians and Visitors and Prevent Further Spread of COVID-19

Domestic and international travel protocols as outlined in the order are as follows:

  • Entry Requirements for all international visitors
    • A visitor arriving on an international commercial flight shall be permitted to enter The Bahamas and must at their own expense:
      • Submit to mandatory quarantine in a Government specified facility for a period of fourteen days upon arrival in The Bahamas;
      • Undergo a RT-PCR COVID-19 molecular diagnostic test at the end of the period
         
  • Restriction on international travel into Grand Bahama Island
    • For the purposes of preventing the spread of COVID-19, no international travel, whether by air or sea, commercial or private shall be permitted into or out of Grand Bahama.
    • The restriction on international commercial travel does not include the international carriage of goods.
       
  • Entry requirements for citizens
    • A citizen or legal resident of The Bahamas shall be permitted to enter The Bahamas, and immediately upon arrival must at their own expense:
      • Be placed in mandatory quarantine in a Government specified facility for a period of fourteen days
      • Be required to undergo a RT-PCR COVID-19 molecular diagnostic test at the end of the quarantine period
    • A citizen or legal resident may elect to undergo a RT-PCR COVID-19 molecular diagnostic test at their own expense while under quarantine and if the result of the test indicates that the person has
      • Tested negative for COVID-19, that person shall be released from the requirement to quarantine at the government specified facility and instead, submit to mandatory monitoring using the HubbCat monitoring platform.
      • Not tested negative for COVID-19, that person shall remain in quarantine until the expiry of the fourteen day period.

The Bahamas has remained diligent in efforts to minimize the spread of COVID-19 throughout the islands and these measures are imperative to ensure that remains the case. The health and wellbeing of both residents and visitors remain the number one priority, and even greater emphasis is being put on ensuring The Bahamas is a safe and clean destination for all to enjoy.
