Bahamian Tourism Stakeholders Attend IMEX Frankfurt

FRANKFURT, Germany (26 May 2023) – A Bahamian delegation of tourism stakeholders were in Frankfurt, Germany this week to connect with more than 2,500 suppliers from across the globe to promote The Bahama’ diverse offerings for meetings, incentives and experiences at IMEX Frankfurt. The three-day event, which took place from 23 – 25 May, is the largest trade show of its kind in Europe and attracted thousands of exhibitors from around the world including hotel groups, airlines, regional and national convention bureaus, tech providers and event management specialists.
The Bahamas delegation, headed by Anthony Stuart, Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation Senior Director, Europe,, consisted of representatives from Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board, Atlantis Paradise Island, Baha Mar´s SLS and Grand Hyatt, Sandals Resorts and the full service and one-stop-shop DMC, AV & Event Production Company and Cacique International.
Stuart was optimistic about the meetings stating that Bahamian delegates met with several international meeting planners and conference planners who were desirous to host meetings in The Islands of The Bahamas. He said there were also several meetings held with Film and TV company executives who were looking for a destination for their upcoming projects.

The Bahamas is one of the leading destinations for meetings and incentive travel in the region. The16 unique island destinations of The Bahamas are home to more than 30 world class luxury resorts and meeting facilities, boutique hotels, villas, and hideaways of every style, for groups of all sizes and budgets. Groups business is very important to tourism growth of The Islands of The Bahamas. This sector accounts for more than 40% of the destination’s overall tourism business.
George Brice, Vice President, Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board, said it was crucial to attend IMEX Frankfurt “to meet buyers that can bring new business to the destination”.
“We also add them [buyers] to our database so that we can invite them on fam trips to experience the destination so that they are better equipped to recommend The Bahamas to their clients,” said Brice.
