“We were inspired by Cristov Moss, who on his latest visit to the Kidney Centre where he was told of the urgent need for certain items for the patients,” said Ms. Robinson. “He was impacted by the pleas for assistance, and these pleas, we at SDC could not ignore and knew, we had to lend our support.”

Robinson launched an appeal to SDC members for donations to the Kidney Centre. She said, she was pleased with the overwhelming support of members who, in less than two weeks, filled boxes with antacids, blankets towels, squeeze balls, socks and other essentials.

Jenny Laing, Kidney Centre spokesperson, in thanking the SDC and Moss for their kind gesture and remembering the Centre said, “These kinds of initiatives are so important because they help with educating the general populace on the plight of patients suffering from kidney disease, and the donations help with meeting the needs of the patients.”

“I would like to encourage more organizations and foundations to give back, because it helps the public to be aware of the disease and having that knowledge is power,” added Laing.

Next year, SDC plans to increase the volume of their donation to the Kidney Centre and will continue to spread love and generosity throughout the community of Grand Bahama.
