Country Nominated for World’s Best Cruise and Wedding Destination

The Islands Of The Bahamas are looking to claim two top spots in the exciting 25th World Travel Awards, which will take place on Saturday, December 1st, 2018 at Pátio da Galé, Lisbon, Portugal before industry leaders, luminaries and the international media. 

Officials of the renowned travel awards have announced that the destination is in the running for the World’s Leading Cruise Destination and the World’s Leading Wedding Destination Awards.

This comes in on the heels of the destination with the out-of-this-world blue waters being nominated for nine different awards, namely Caribbean’s Leading Beach Destination; Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination; Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Port 2018; Caribbean’s Leading Destination; Caribbean’s Leading Dive Destination; Caribbean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination; Caribbean’s Leading Luxury Island Destination 2018; Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board 2018 and Caribbean’s Most Romantic Destination.

The Bahamas, a country of more than 700 islands and keys, attracts all of the major cruise lines, many of which operate port of calls to private islands in The Bahamas.  Among them are: Carnival, Disney, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise and Princess Cruises.  Additionally, The Bahamas, which has held the position of leading cruise destination in the Caribbean region for sometime now, welcomes in excess of 4.6 million cruise visitors annually.  The Caribbean also continues to hold the greatest percentage of shared cruise business, worldwide.

The Gala ceremony will also mark World Travel Awards’ 25th anniversary of rewarding travel excellence and promises to be a truly spectacular occasion.
