FREEPORT, Bahamas – September 23, 2021 – Just two months in, and Maxxi’s Bahamian Beach Bar and Grill has become the hottest spot for local cuisine in Freeport. Owned by businessman Maxwell Curry, the 4-acre beach beauty offers a unique culinary experience to residents and visitors to picturesque William’s Town. On property, there is also a fully stocked watersports rental.

At the new restaurant location, affectionately called Maxxi’s, customer favorites include tender cracked conch, flavourly seasoned lobster and grilled or fried chicken, all cooked to gourmet style perfection. And let’s not forget Maxxi’s crispy fried onion rings, chiseled calamari, and mouthwatering lemonade, which are all a part of a Bahamian tell-all story. The beach bar was birthed out of the pandemic two months ago, but Curry did not allow the economic downturn to interfere with what he calls a Bahamian tropical attraction.

When asked what prompted the opening of the grill and bar, the owner said he dreamed of becoming a businessman at the age of ten and continued working on the concept of his dream until it became a reality. He expressed that what sets his restaurant apart is that both visitors and locals alike feel right at home in its ambiance which they experience as friendly, fun and relaxing.

“Here at Maxxi’s” said Curry, “I think you will get a unique experience. We sell Bahamian culture, specializing in seafood — lobster, shrimp, and conch. We also sell lots of tropical drinks. Our product is Bahamian beach and cuisine because we try to give everyone a different encounter and to add to that, the area is tourist centric so you have other local bars you can visit while touring William’s Town. “

“Moving forward” Curry continued, “We are going to have Karaoke on Wednesday nights, Fish Fry on our Bonfire Thursdays, Corporate Fridays, then we will do a Wine, Cognac and Cigar night on Saturdays, and to top off the weekend, we will do something like an International Spanish Sunday.  Now that curfew has been pushed back to midnight, we are going to start advertising and marketing these five nights. There will be a different flavour at Maxxi’s Bahamian Beach Bar and Grill, the place to come for  a good, fun filled time.” .

At Maxxi’s, restaurant hours are from noon to midnight, Thursday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 11p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Breakfast is served on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The new restaurant anticipates opening its doors full time, as they await the arrival of more cruise ships and an increase in hotel occupancy.  Maxxi’s also has three other locations: in New Providence, at  Montagu Beach, on Paradise Island, and at the Freeport Harbour.
