With summer in full swing, The Islands Of The Bahamas are continuing to premier exciting new events, attractions and airlift services. From contestants of NBC’s The Voice performing at Baha Mar to the opening of the world’s first land-based coral farm, there is plenty to see in The Bahamas, and expanded airlift services make it easier than ever to get to the islands. The monthly ForwardKeys survey shows that The Bahamas continues to be a favorite Caribbean destination among tourists as international arrivals continue to grow. 


International Arrivals Continue to Climb – The June ForwardKeys survey, which tracks inbound visitor data, revealed that international arrivals to The Bahamas increased by an impressive 7.1% in May with positive performances from the United States and Canada. Due to the summer holidays, forward bookings for the next three months are running 8.4% ahead with June, ahead by 12.3%, showing the most favorable outlook.  

NBC’s The Voice is Coming to Baha Mar– Past winners and favorites of the hit NBC singing competition, The Voice, are coming to Baha Mar July 4 – August 3 for a new extension of the show: The Voice Summer Series.Tickets to concerts, with performances by Jordan Smith, Blaze Johnson, Mary Sarah and Chris Blue, are complimentary for hotel guests.  

Coral Reef Restoration Farm Now Open – The world’s first land-based coral farm, Coral Vita, is now open in Freeport. The farm will serve as an education center teaching tourists and locals about the need to restore dying reefs. Coral Vita uses micro-fragmenting technology to grow coral and transplant it into degraded sites.

Great Harbour Cay Is Getting A New Airport – The Berry Islands’ Great Harbour Cay is getting a new $2 million airport terminal to accommodate the influx of tourists flying to the island. The project is scheduled to break ground this month.

Freeport Airlift – Beginning July 1, Bahamasair is offering direct flights from Orlando to Freeport, Bahamas through September 7. The non-stop flights operate twice a week and are just over an hour each way.
