This unique Bahamian experience will take you back to a time when people enjoyed the simpler things in life; there was great community spirit through caring, sharing, and hard work; and the village did help to bring up the children.
It is a must-see attraction for anyone who would like a firsthand view of The Bahamas of yesteryear. Children can learn about our heritage, and adults can reconnect with the past.
The proprietor, Ms. Nettica Symonette, has created the Centre to share aspects of our rich culture and heritage. Her philosophy is if you don't know where you come from, you don't know where you're going.
The complex has a main building that spills into smaller rooms, each with a special theme and a number of historical artifacts—some of which are over 100 years old.
Tours are offered daily, except Tuesdays, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
The Bahamian Heritage Centre is ideal for cultural weddings and other private functions. Evening functions can also be arranged upon request.
