Ruins of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Old Bight, Cat Island, The Bahamas

Sitting atop a ridge alongside the road in the settlement of Old Bight, Cat Island's largest town, this church is another of Father Jerome's beautifully crafted creations. And, since he patterned his life after its namesake, St. Francis of Assisi, his trademark attention to detail is even more evident here and this is considered one of the most beautiful buildings on the island. It has a Gothic facade and features amazing frescoes, engravings and sculptures. It is now an historical ruin and not generally open to the public, so you'll have to check with locals in the area to gain access.
