Group beginning a tour with West End Ecology Tours, Grand Bahama Island, The Bahamas.

At West End Ecology Tours, we provide an ecology and fishing experience that is simple, pure and natural. Your hosts, Bahamashost© Certified Tour Guides Keith and Linda Cooper, offer something for everyone to enjoy, whether you appreciate culture, native food, abundant marine life, or all of them combined.

Our tours will inform you about the history of the local ecology and how vital it is to protect our natural resources for future generations. You will also get to explore the town of West End, including its coastline, wetlands, and outlying areas; view migratory birds that winter here, in addition to Spotted Dolphin, Loggerhead and Green Sea Turtles, Caribbean Stingrays, Green and Blue Herons, and White Crown Pigeons that seek sanctuary around nearby Sandy Cay, Wood Cay and Indian Cay.

Unique offerings include an Ecology Vacation Program (Eco-volunteer, Eco-family, and Eco-friends) featuring a stay at one of three unique vacation resorts coupled with the opportunity to help save the environment; hand feeding stingrays in their natural environment; going on a Lionfish Spear Hunt and learning about how that invasive species is threatening The Bahamas' indigenous fish population; or simply just appreciate nature by spending the day Robinson Crusoe style on deserted Sandy Cay, with a Bahamian lunch of fresh conch salad, exotic fruit, or grilled fish prepared on the beach underneath the coconut trees. You can nap in the shade and finish the day with a relaxing swim or snorkel right off the beach.
