The last hoorah! 10 unconventional and fun Bachelor and Bachelorette party ideas

For the guys

Go fishing

You’ll be surrounded by some of the most breathtaking waters in the world and fishing is a great way to bond and show off your skills. You might even be able to catch a totally Instagram worthy record fish. From the Berry Islands to Eleuthera, chartering a fishing boat is easy, and you'll be able to book one out of nearly every other beach resort and hotel. You’ll be sure to find a guide who is professional and skilled and more than happy to accompany you and the guys on a one of a kind experience. Make sure to check out the fishing regulations for The Bahamas before you set out on your bachelor adventure.

Play golf

This one is sure to be a hit! With several golf courses spread across a variety of the islands, you’ll be sure to find one to suit the occasion. And since competition is always a much sought after element of male gatherings, we’re sure you’ll be going all out to get that hole-in-one. Choose to take some lessons first, and then go at it. Make sure you get your hands on a golf cart, too, because, when will you get to drive one of those again?

Roll your own cigars

If the groom is into adventure, history and cigars, this might be a great option for his long-awaited bachelor party event. At Graycliff Cigar Company, located at the Graycliff Hotel, you can learn how to sort, clean, roll and store a cigar, all while reminiscing about the best bachelor times you’ve had with the soon to be groom. You will learn all about the award winning Graycliff cigar; the history of tobacco, where the best leaves are grown and why certain leaves are blended together. Graycliff also offers a Cigar Rolling Demonstration that is paired with rum tasting, which is sure to kick up the taste buds.

For the girls

Wind down and chill out

There is no doubt that planning a destination wedding has been a lot for your main girl, so, we’re sure she can use some time to simply chill out with her best girls. The Bahamas boasts some super cool spots to share some beverages, memories and laughs. Graycliff Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Nassau, offers a traditional afternoon tea, which includes Bahamian bush teas (or rich Graycliff Organic Coffee for the coffee lover) and treats like house-made chocolate from their very own Graycliff Chocolatier, scones and savory sandwiches. Another excellent choice for a Bahamian inspired afternoon tea is The Library, located at Rosewood, Bahamar. Offering a ‘Princess tea set’ or giving the option to assemble your own a la carte afternoon tea experience is sure to impress. Not into tea? No problem! Bon Vivants Cafe & Bar, which is located on the western end of the island, offers handcrafted signature cocktails in the cutest and most inspiring atmosphere. The cafe that turns into an entertaining bar at night also hosts a Jazz night every Wednesday.

Savor some brunch

To say that The Bahamas has some of the best brunch spots around would be an understatement. From Bahamian all-you-can-eat brunch spots to boutique spots serving unique fusion flavors, the sky's the limit. Bottomless mimosas and summer sangrias are a popular accompaniment and not to mention local favorites like guava duff for dessert. This might also be a great time to surprise your bff with some gifts that include some embarrassing stories and wedding night attire. You deserve to have fun, too. Right?!

Spa Day

She’s been ”going, going, going,” for months, putting together the best possible destination wedding money and time can buy . A Spa Day with the girls is exactly what she needs to relax and pull herself together before the big day. Most resorts and hotels across the islands offer spa services, which will make it easy for you to plan the perfect bachelorette party. Staying somewhere that doesn’t have a Spa? Ask your host, travel agent or event planner to hook you up with the best one based on the services you want to get done. You can even hire a remote masseuse or beautician, have some Tapas catered to your hotel suite, and stay in for the night. The options here are endless.

Get artistic

Paint and sip your way through the night with the girls and take home a keepsake that can double as home decor. Paint party experts, such as Big Picture Paint & Sip Studio, offer guided paint party experiences, in studio or off-site, which give you a lot of flexibility in how and where you want to set up your perfect bachelorette party for your girl. Instudio does provide the wine, while off-site doesn’t, so, that’s definitely something to take into account. Combine it with a special dinner prior to getting creative; the studio is located on the western end of the island, which is home of some of the best restaurants as well. Choose to paint individual works of art you each can take home or make a”Big Picture,”, where everyone paints a small part of one painting. Give that to the bride-to-be as a final bachelorette gift and wonderful memorandum of a great night!

The latter includes live DJs and drink packages, so, it’s sure to be a party. The cherry on top? The on-board crew consists of all pirates! Speaking of pirates, what about a pirate-themed escape room experience to get those adventure juices flowing? Blackbeard’s Escape is set in 1718 and allows you and the rest of your crew to use all your schemes and creativity to escape the Gallows and join Blackbeard on his mission. Sure sounds like fun, Matey!
