The Magic of Sandy Cay

Two People feeding stingrays in the water
Freeport - Grand Bahama Island

You may think I'm kidding, but I’m very serious. In less than 30 minutes (minus the hr. drive to get to West G.B.), you can completely whisk yourself away to a place where the full beauty of the landscape is inexplicable.

Of course, there’s more to this experience than the picturesque landscape...like the intimate vibes and the island “feel” you'll get on the boat ride over.  But aside from that, when you pull up to the cay, the moment absolutely will take your breath away!

You’ll probably feel like Bella Hadid or Kendall Jenner trying to escape the paparazzi, but once you manage to pinch yourself and return to reality, you’ll receive the most informative lesson on what makes this stingray adventure so different from anything else you’ve experienced.

You’ll learn the names of all the rays, get acquainted with their habits, and before you know it you and your squad will be greeted by the friendliest stingrays ready to say hello!

I'll be frank and warn you that nerves will probably overwhelm your body when you catch your first glimpse of the rays and their pointy tails...but when you finally make it off the boat into the crystal-clear water there really is nothing to fear.

In fact, your personal tour guide, will make you feel like you're the only person in the world who had the opportunity to partake in a moment that's so magical!

After learning about their habits and ecology, the moment you were waiting for will arrive. You’ll get to hand feed, kiss, and pet the ray of your choice while engaging in the most Insta worthy photo-op of your life.

You may even spot some baby sharks while you're out there- which I think is an added bonus!

So cheers to anyone who’s willing to be a part of the magic and to anyone who plans on making their next excursion a visit to Sandy Cay.
