Bring The Flavours Of The Bahamas With You!

Nassau

Who doesn’t love a delicious cocktail with an ocean view? Or sipping on an ice-cold mixed drink with a bowl of flavour packed conch salad or a plate of piping hot, crispy conch fritters?

Be it the simple staples, like a Bahama Mama or Fruit Punch, or perhaps something more complex that infuses the flavours of The Bahamas into international classics - recreating some of your favourite vacation cocktails may be easier than you think.

A simple recipe for fruit punch includes 2 parts orange juice, to one part pineapple juice, with a splash of grenadine. This is also a great base to start experimenting with a rum punch that you can easily personalize.

A smooth dark rum is always a great option, but flavored rums, such as pineapple, banana, or coconut, are popular rum punch additions.

If you are looking to add a bit of unique flavour to some of your own drink recipes, consider infusing them with popular ingredients found throughout the country. Fresh, frozen, or canned guava, pineapple, mango, soursop, and tamarind are all great additions to drinks like mojitos or margaritas, and can make them feel a bit more special.

Swapping out lemons for limes is also an extremely simple way to bring your vacation cocktails to life. While coconut water makes a refreshing addition to a wide range of drinks.

And, last, but certainly not least, don’t forget a garnish. You can use anything from fresh citrus, fruits, or give your cocktail a retro vibe by using a classic umbrella and maraschino cherry combo.
