General Situation: Hurricane Isaias centered just east of South Andros continues to move northwest and into northwest Bahamas with heavy showers and strong thunderstorms along with hurricane to tropical storm force winds continuing across the northwest and central Bahamas. 

Special Warnings: Hurricane conditions continue for the northwest and central Bahamas. The all-clear has been given for the southeast Bahamas. 

For the Northwest and Central Bahamas

Weather: Tropical storm to hurricane conditions with strong thunderstorms, heavy rainfall

Advisory: Boaters should remain in port 

Winds: Tropical storm to hurricane strength winds through tonight

Seas: 15 to 20 feet but higher in swells through tonight 

For the Southeast Bahamas

Weather: Partly cloudy and windy with showers and thunderstorms

Advisory: Boaters should remain in port

Winds: Southeasterly at 20 to 25 knots with higher gusts falling to 15 to 20 knots by the afternoon

Seas: 7 to 10 feet and falling to 4 to 6 feet but higher in swells over the ocean

The Extended Forecast for the Next Two Days

Hurricane Isaias continues to move in a northwest direction through the extreme northwest Bahamas spreading tropical storm force to hurricane force winds on Sunday. Expect conditions to begin improving by Sunday evening as the hurricane moves away from The Bahamas. 

Forecast for Sunday

Weather: Tropical storm to hurricane conditions in the extreme northwest Bahamas. Cloudy to overcast and windy with scattered showers and thunderstorms over the remainder of the northwest and central Bahamas. Partly cloudy, humid and breezy in the southeast Bahama. 

Winds: Tropical storm to hurricane force winds over the extreme northwest Bahamas with winds becoming southeasterly at 15 to 25 knots by the evening. East to southeast at 15 to 20 knots over the remainder of The Bahamas. 

Seas: 12 to 15 feet but higher in swells diminishing to 5 to 8 feet by the afternoon in the extreme northwest Bahamas. 4 to 6 feet but higher in swells over the remainder of the islands. 

Forecast for Monday

Weather: Partly cloudy and windy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms

Winds: East to southeast at 15 to 20 knots 

Seas: 4 to 6 feet seas slightly higher in swells
