Blackbeard’s Revenge Wows FCCA Conference

The pirates of Blackbeard’s Revenge stole the show at the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association’s (FCCA) 26th annual conference held in San Juan, Puerto Rico recently.
Blackbeard’s Revenge, a ship that mirrors the design of pirate vessels of the 1700s, launched earlier this year and has taken Nassau Harbour by storm with dynamic day and evening tours using its cast of colorful pirates.
As its bounty for attending the FCCA Conference, the parent company Pirate’s Revenge, is in talks with a number of cruise lines that expressed high interest in selling the tour to their customers. Some of those cruise lines include Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL), Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL), Disney Cruise Lines (DCL) and Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL).
Founder of Pirate’s Revenge Anthony Knowles, who traveled with tourism officials to the Conference, said he feels that business is about to skyrocket.
“It was a very successful trip and I am happy that we did it. I feel that the business is about to turn around in the right direction,” he said.
“It was very encouraging, and the ships really warmed up to us. I think the trip was a defining point for the future of Blackbeard’s Revenge.”
Knowles said he is hoping that his success will lead to a rebranding of pirate tours in Nassau.
“We are hoping to have a tour where visitors can follow the footsteps of where pirates walked. There really is growth in that area. We want to hire more people and build another boat to stage a war at sea,” he said. “We have to adapt to the demand that we are looking to come our way.”

The FCCA Conference is a four-day event designed to foster a better understanding of the inner workings of the cruise industry, and to help attendees improve their cruise tourism business.
Through a specialized forum that blends meetings and workshops with social functions, attendees have an opportunity to network, promote products, and negotiate with 100 executives from FCCA’s Member Lines who decide where ships call and how to invest in destinations and infrastructure.
