Music is the heartbeat of Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival. From Grand Bahama to Nassau, enjoy non-stop live entertainment day and night with the best Bahamian musicians and their contemporaries from across the Caribbean and the around the world. If you love music, plan to attend the Carnival Kick Off from April 28-29, 2017 in Grand Bahama, where contestants in the Junkanoo Carnival Music Masters Song Competition will compete in a semi-final concert at Taino Beach. After Grand Bahama, get ready to amp up the music once again at the Music Masters Mega Concert on Friday, May 5, 2017 in Nassau. There, the top 10 contestants will compete on the mega stage, alongside featured artists from around the world. It is a concert you do not want to miss; just as the 50,000 people who attended the inaugural concert last year.

Inside Da Cultural Village
Da Cultural Village is the epicenter of culture at Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival. Whether you love Bahamian food, art, creativity and the spirit of the people; or you simply dig the idea of being immersed in a new cultural experience, head to Da Cultural Village at Taino Beach in Grand Bahama or Long Wharf Beach in Nassau. Bahamians and visitors alike can soak up the culture inside Da Cultural Village. Snack on conch fritters or roasted corn inside the food court or fill your stomach with a hearty fish dinner or chicken in the bag, all traditional Bahamian favorites. Discover the art of Junkanoo music at the Junkamania concert on Thursday, May 4, 2017 and the creativity of our youth at Youth Culture Fest on May 6, 2017.
TURN UP THE VIBES
At the Road Fever Street Party
Road Fever is the signature street party of Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival, held on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Thousands of costumed revellers flood the streets to jump and wine and party through the streets. Join in the fun by ordering a costume with a registered Road Fever company (See listing on website) and #jumpindaline. Road Fever is all about the vibes. Each costume section has a traveling bar and a roving deejay that rides along the route, ensuring the vibes are always turned up. There is a Road Fever Grand Stand inside Da Cultural Village for spectators, but the real fun is in participating. If you love to party, you do not want to miss Road Fever. And there's a bonus, Road Fever companies have non-stop parties along the road to carnival. Practically every weekend there is a wet fete, paint or powder party: something to get you in the Junkanoo Carnival spirit, starting with their individual costume launch events.

DA CULTURAL VILLAGE - May 4-6, 2017
Da Cultural Village is the heart of Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival bustling with activity throughout the carnival season. Showcasing the unique offerings of The Bahamas including food, culture, arts, craft and non-stop entertainment featuring Junkanoo, Rake 'n' Scrape and world rhythms. The village has something for everyone.

JUNKAMANIA - May 4, 2017
A concert of Junkanoo orchestras. A unique musical event showcasing Junkanoo music and other Junkanoo inspired folk forms such as drumming and dance on the biggest Junkanoo Stage in the World!
Musicians will let their imaginations run wild, producing new and exciting sounds by fusing traditional Junkanoo instruments with other instruments from across the full music spectrum.
Event starts 8:00 P.M. EST and ends 10:00 P.M. EST.
MUSIC MASTERS - May 5, 2017
The biggest concert of the Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival season featuring top Bahamian and international artists.
This concert will ultimately determine who is crowned, Master of the Bahamian Sound
Music Masters is not only a concert, but a journey. It starts almost a year before, when Bahamian musicians are invited to submit original songs for the Music Masters Song Competition. The top 20 songs are selected, mastered and released on the official Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival Compilation Album.
In the first concert of the Music Masters series, the artists compete for a spot in the finals where they perform in front of a crowd of over 50,000 people for the top Music Masters prize. Their performance is complemented by other top local and regional acts.
Event starts 8:00 P.M. EST and ends 2:00 A.M. EST.
ROAD FEVER - May 6, 2017
Road Fever is the original Bahamian masquerade street party that closes out the annual Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival.
It is a costume parade incorporating a unique mix of live and recorded music with masses of people "Shaking up the Streets"
Road Fever caters to the party animal in you. It is open to any and every one willing to purchase a costume and jump in da line with a carnival company, however it is best suited for those who have the stamina, rhythm, confidence, positive vibes and a free spirit. The criterion for participation has nothing to do with age, wealth, nationality, or religion. It has everything to do with a true revelers spirit.
Road Fever Companies are the driving force behind the Road Fever Parade. These companies provide costumes and the on road experience. Many of them offer an all inclusive carnival experience.
Route: Starting at Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium (Bahamas Games Roundabout); Go south toward Tonique Williams-Darling Hwy; At the roundabout, head west on Tonique Williams-Darling Hwy; At the next roundabout, turn left onto the street formally known as Bethel Avenue; Continue north to six legged roundabout; Turn east onto Thompson Boulevard; Continue onto Nassau St; Turn left onto W Bay St and onto Western Esplanade. Amp Up The Music! Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival Kicks-off its events in the home of the second capital, Grand Bahama.
This amazing two-day event is the debut event for the stars of the Music Masters song competition. Grand Bahamians are treated to the newest, hottest Bahamian hits as the semi-finalists battle it out on a beachside stage to see who will perform on the mega stage at Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival in Nassau.
But the vibes don’t stop there. Each night the concert heats up with Caribbean and international artists, and in the daytime, activities such as the air show and cultural food and demonstrations keep the vibe alive.
Grand Bahama has become the ‘Magic City’ once more as the starting line for Bahamas Jukanoo Carnival.
