Island Things To Do

Wreck Diving

Popular sites include Theo’s Wreck, a fully-intact 268-foot cement freighter at 100 feet on the continental shelf and Sea Star, a 180-foot fishing vessel lying at 90 feet.

Reef Diving

Dives sites range from 40 to 60 feet or more, including one with a cavern that passes through a large coral, and Plate Reef, a hard coral reef with a nearby blue hole.

Marine Life

The Bahamas is an official sanctuary for sharks and there is a healthy population here. Other marine life includes colorful fish, freshwater eels, sea turtles, rays and eels.

Caves, Caverns & Blue Holes

Famous among the numerous caverns, caves and blue holes here are Owl Hole and Ben’s Cave, which opens to a six-mile freshwater cave system once explored by Jacques Cousteau.
