Dive Ragged Island

There is no formal dive operation, but there are a few certified divers who can assist visiting divers in exploring the waters. Locals know the best spots for free diving or to view the variety of undersea life, including numerous fish species. A rich and healthy population of sharks is visible in the "cuts." Stingrays and eagle rays play hide and seek in the shallows.

Island Things To Do

Wall Diving

Many uncharted drop-offs are evident here since the chain sits on the edge of the Great Bahama Bank. Dive an ocean wall in east Ragged Island near the salt ponds and at Lover’s Leap.

Reef Diving

The pristine coral reefs here have a number of shallow areas where you will easily encounter the variety of sea life that call them home, including numerous species of reef fish.

Marine Life

Colorful reef fish, starfish, corals and helmet conchs are so incredible that they don’t look real. Sharks live in the cuts; stingrays and eagle rays lie in the shallows on the reefs.

Cave, Cavern & Blue Holes

Dive in the blue holes on the western edge of Ragged Island or the interesting caves accessible only from the sea (some underwater) at Man-O-War Cay, Margaret Cay and Raccoon Cay.
