Western Air Ltd. was established by husband and wife team, Rex and Shandrice Rolle in 2001. The couple fused their knowledge, experience and passion for aviation to provide an alternative, reliable air transport service to the Bahamian public. Today, Western Air's fleet consists of five Saab 340As (33 seaters). Western Air is a fully licensed and insured airline that currently operates daily scheduled flights between Nassau, San Andros, Congo Town, Bimini, and Freeport, Grand Bahama. Western Air also has a charter division that offers on-demand charters throughout the Bahamas, Caribbean, Central and South America. The airline is currently the largest privately owned airline in the Bahamas and employs over 140 full time employees.
Western Air is headquartered at San Andros International Airport where it owns a state-of-the-art fixed based operation (FBO), passenger terminal, and full service maintenance facility. Additionally, Western Air’s northern hub is located at the Grand Bahama International Airport where the airline recently opened a brand new 32,000 sq. ft. FBO, private passenger terminal and sub-maintenance station.
